BART’s current collective bargaining page lists different agreement periods for different bargaining units. As of September 2026, BART lists AFSCME, ATU and SEIU agreements covering 2021–2027 on an interim basis, while BPOA and BPMA agreements are listed for 2018–2026.
Why the dates matter
The end date shown on an agreement is a useful starting point, but it does not by itself explain every amendment, extension, side letter or implementation date. Workers checking a specific rule should read the agreement and any later Board-approved modifications that apply to their unit.
What can differ by bargaining unit
Wage schedules, premium pay, leave rules, healthcare contributions, retirement-related provisions and work rules can differ. BART budget documents also show that negotiated wage increases can vary among groups in the same fiscal year.
